With spring upon us, it is time to start transitioning away from our winter skincare routines to ones that account for more sun exposure. Here are 3 skincare tips for spring.
Even though it may not seem intuitive, you should be wearing SPF throughout the year, including winter. However, while you may be able to get away with a lower SPF during wintertime, it is time to increase the protection. The sun will be out longer and stronger. Wear at least an SPF 30 sunscreen.
In the wintertime, it is often recommended to wear a thicker cream moisturizer, especially for people who live in very cold environments. However, spring can allow you to switch back to a lightweight moisturizer. If you have dry skin, you may consider using a thick moisturizer year-round.
Again, while it is likely that you exfoliate all year, it can be more important in spring. This is because there are more free radicals in the air (and allergens) which can irritate the skin. Even the changing temperatures and humidity can impact the skin and cause breakouts. Exfoliation can help prevent this and remove free radicals from the skin.
